Tartan Print - Christmas Plaid | Nail Art TUTORIAL

If you still don't know what you're going to do with your nails for Christmas, here is a nail art tutorial to inspire you! After the pictorial and written steps I have included a product list.

Pro Tip; If you don't have the time to spend "nail-arting" all ten of your fingers, paint your nails red or green (don't forget to add some glitter) and use this tartain-plaid print as an accent nail on your ring finger!

Optional Step; Add glitter!!! Anywhere, really...

Make sure you start your nail art with freshly manicured hands. To learn how to get a professional manicure at home, click here.

Step 1; Wipe acetone or nail polish remover over your nails to clear any lingering oils that could prevent the polish from sticking.
Step 2; Apply a base coat.
Step 3; Apply a red nail polish.
Step 4; After your red polish has dried, paint two thick horizontal green stripes across your nails. I used the brush of my polish to make these lines.
Step 5; Using a white striper, paint thin vertical white stripes in pairs on either side of your nails. Each nail does not need to be the same.
Step 6; Paint a medium vertical line on the side opposite from the pair of thin white lines from the previous step.
Step 7; Make two medium (or thin, change it up!) lines centered over the green horizontal stripes already there.
Step 8; Clean away any nail polish on the surrounding skin with a brush dipped in acetone or nail polish remover. Apply cuticle oil to replenish the moisture in your cuticles and surround skin that has been touched by the acetone.

And you're done!

If you've stumbled upon this tutorial and it isn't Christmas, have no fear, you can still try this one out! Change up the colors to create several different and unique looks using the same steps listed above.
