Oh, Christmas Tree | The Makeup Mixup

I want to tell you a little story. This week's Makeup Mixup prompt Oh, Christmas Tree had me thinking about green eyeshadows and if it was possible to make them daytime appropriate. I was excited for the challenge. With brushes and shadows blazing, I set off to create a unique look. Little did I know that an amazing swedish (I think??) makeup artist, Linda Hallberg, had already created a nearly identical look!

Here's how I did it; I started by applying Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original to both lids. I used Kat Von D's Shade & Light Eye palette to create a classic "pin-up"; liberatus on the entire lid space, ludwin and lazarus in the crease, and saleos to define the crease and outer corners of my eyes. The winged eyeliner was created using the Catrice Dating Joe Black Liquid Eyeliner. I curled my lashes and applied the L'Oréal Miss Manga Rock Waterproof Mascara

I applied a base of NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Terre Neuve over the entire face, and layered Catrice's All Matt Plus foundation in the shade 010 Light Beige onto areas of my face that tend to get red. I used my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer  in the shade Chantilly to cover a few blemishes I had and set it all with Too Faced's Primed & Powerless Loose Powder. I contoured my face using lazarus, a shadow from the Shade & Light Eye palette. I highlighted the tops of my cheeks with the Kiko Cream Radiance Highlighter in the shade 01 and filled in my brows using Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and Dipbrow Pomade, both in the shade Taupe. To set my brow hairs in place I brushed through the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel

Lastly, the green! I applied the Catrice Kohl Kajal in the shade Greentings From ... to my lower waterline and just below it. I blended the color out with the Morphe Brushes Eyeshadows in Breakfast at Tiffaneez, Nature's Calling and Sunflower. To deepen the green shadow, I layered Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in the shade Mars. Just keep blending, and you'll get where you want to be!

Shout out to Miranda for hosting, and feel-good vibes for Jaelan who is currently sick! Feel better lady!
Much Love,
-Stephanie Eva
